The Kettle Diner in Jacksonville

Fries and okra was good but the chicken fried steak is not at all. It was a frozen one. Not homemade.

First time there. We are on vacation and was looking for a nice place to eat. This place is absolutely amazing! the food was phenomenal, the prices were fantastic, the amount of food was just overwhelming, and the staff was super nice. We will be going back before we leave!

Hard to find parking during busy hours! Once in, its pretty quick to get seated. Service was caring and excellent! Felt welcomed and got taken care of quick and efficiently.Had Steak omelet with an extra egg and potatoes. The potatoes were good with those green peppers and the ketchup which was in that red vessel but tasted like Heintz, which is the only Ketchup I like.Not sure about the food quality tho; wasnt too impressed with the steak being a mashed burger and the cheese was Jizz cheese I believe. Id rather have real meat and cheese, but guess the price was matching reality. Otherwise wouldve graded 5star.Except that I was really happy overall and probably will come back to try their specials.If you never been here, come and try! Worth your time and money. Enjoy

Delightful little hole in the wall with a family vibe. Service was great! All the staff was friendly and smiling, helping eachother out. Food looked and tasted delicious! Portions were large for how reasonable the prices were! Will definitely be returning!

Our family ate breakfast twice here the first breakfast I ate was pancakes,eggs and bacon. The pancakes were spot on mouth watering great, the eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was good but it was a little too well done for my liking.The next breakfast I tried was the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was good but lacked sausage and was way to (hot spicy) the biscuits were good, but the they were a little over done which caused the biscuit to be a little dry and the bottoms were a bit over done. But over all the both dishes were still good and the services was very friendly and nice. We would eat there again if we get the chance.

Very enjoyable! I have been away for 12 years and ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad, (like I always did in the past) it was as great today as any other time that I've had it!

Great place. My first time there. Everyone was so nice and the food was excellent to me would highly recommend our server, I think her name was Kim, Very Nice and punctual

This was our first time here and we went with regulars. We ordered ham and cheese omelettes which were good with a good egg flavor and plenty of cheese. Grits were ok.

Great food with great service! The daily specials are always a good option. Save room for cake. Good cakes.

Normally experience here has constantly been good. Today....not the case. I love the French dip sandwiches made here. Placed an order to go....they forgot to bring it out right after it was done...sandwich was lukewarm...fries same and limp. After I ate a few fries...noticed black hair underneath the ones I had just eaten. Not your usually good quality. I will eat here again, but please get order out to customer after its cooked and are hairnets being woren when food is cooked? Please...just a reminder! Thanks

Had a great time at the kettle dinner. Food was good and cheap, staff was kind but still did a good job keeping up in a packed restaurant.I had The Kettle Country Omlette and it was great! Sweet tea was delicious. My wife's burger was meaty and delicious.I would go again.

Best find in North Carolina. Great food and great service. We had Jersey for our server and she was spectacular! Very popular but worth the wait.

Last time I was in Jacksonville this place was closed for renovation so this time I was excited to check it out. This is a small place with what looks like a loyal customer base. It has a 50's diner vibe but without being too on the nose. My daughter and I had breakfast which was super fresh.... I had a.veggie omelet with home fries (with fresh peppers and onions). It was awesome. Our waitress Lily was super sweet and very attentive. I sat with my daughter over coffee for more than an hour and Lily kept us feeling welcome and with hot coffee. Perfectly lovely morning.

Excellent place to eat ,I’m visiting from Cleveland area and my son and his Marine buddy’s eat here all the time . I had to try it the staff is very friendly, atmosphere very nice and food is splendid. I had the chicken fried chicken mash potatoes, and a slice of German cake. For and appetizer I had wing dings they were nice and crunchy and fried the right way. A must try if you never eaten here.

Kettle Diner is a staple of Jacksonville, NC. They have always been very family friendly and just make you feel at home. The food is delicious and hits the spot every time. Bring your friends, your kids, go on a nice date or even bring your boss. They have the perfect atmosphere.

This place is awesome! Great service, food, staff, and atmosphere! Prices are great and amount of food for the money makes you happy. I have been to this place several times over the past 7 years and have never been disappointed. Worth the trip if you like country cooking!

The food was so good! Our waitress was Isabell and she was so nice! The food was amazing and my whole family loved it, My brother loved the spaghetti, My step dad and mom loves the hamburger stake!

Always stop and eat here when I visit Jacksonville...I love it, the staff is so friendly and the food is delicious...love the atmosphere

In town visiting from Florida, and stopped in twice this week.... I must say the vegetable beef soup is the best we've ever had. The wife found a place for liver n onions. I found some where to get my favorite comfort food, grilled cheese and tomato soup. Everything we've tried tasted great, a lot of food per serving at a very good price. I am sitting here right now staring at the different cakes sitting on the counter wishing I had room to try a piece. Hmmmm perhaps next time. 😃

They just can’t seem to get it right, food’s not bad for what it is, but be ready to be ignored, items requested never provided, long waits with Covid, higher prices for smaller portions.

I'm a big fan of diners and was excited to try this one when I saw it. It did not disappoint. Bigger menu than I would have even expected for a diner, so there's a little something for everyone. Food was good and quick, service was great, restaurant was clean. Will return!

Always friendly staff. Their post hurricane renovation started true to the original atmosphere of a small town diner. Vegetarian omelette is go to here. My husband always gets the fried pork chops. They're French toast is also excellent. Work your way through their diverse menu. You won't be disappointed.

It was crazy busy being a sunday however this place is great if you are dining out on a budget but want some good hearty food. We waited maybe 10 minutes even though there was a line in front of us and we got our food very quick for how busy they were. We were in and out in 35 minutes. Their fries green tomatoes are delicious and abundant. I'm pretty sure there was about 10 big ones on the plate for 5 bucks. And as for the french toast, absolutely delectable. Might I recommend asking for their honey butter to go with it. We got a stack of french toast a big breakfast platter, and fried green tomatoes for 19 bucks. Good luck finding that deal anywhere else with food this good. One of our favorite places to go for breakfast.

Wonderful meal! My family of four stopped to eat here tonight and we're constantly getting pleasant surprise after pleasant surprise. All of the service was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was kind, drinks were always full, it was clean, prices were affordable, and food was delicious! My wife and son had a hamburger and both of theirs were wonderful. My other son wanted breakfast (they serve breakfast all day) so he got pancakes, and I got liver and onions which turned out to be the best liver and onions with homemade mashed potatoes I've ever had! Great experience, I hope to become more regular here even though I live 25 minutes away :) Thanks for a wonderful family meal!

Oh my god. This food is amazing. Waffles are my jam and they are so good here. The pot roast is awesome and the cornbread is the bomb. We regularly eat here since we moved here. Highly recommend!

It's a good little diner. A bit of seating above average on this aspect. Food is good diner food. They have daily specials. Cheap. Nothing unique on the food menu just you everyday diner food.

The selection is great, similar to Denny's. I'll have to bring my mom back I think she will like it. Staff is really friendly too.

Wonderful service, employees that care and it shows. Attention to detail and a down home laid back feel. Great food AND desserts. Definitely a diner like atmosphere. New seasonal menu items offered and worth adventuring off the regular menu.

My first time to eat at the Kettle and it was delicious! The food was delicious and our waitress Lily was awesome!! I plan on going back there the next time we're in town.

We love The Kettle! It has been transformed and redone a few times over the years but the service only gets better and the food is always on point! We go every Sunday after church, trust me even when the line is out the door - it's worth the wait and the line typically moves very quick!

Super clean. Everything was being sanitized in between guests. They were using disposable condiments and cups. It was busy and there was a small wait. Staff was very friendly and quick.

The Kettle Diner is like sitting down at grandma's house with all the inviting smells and love that I remember as a child. The staff greets you with a smile that says "glad you're here" . Your dinning experience be breakfast, lunch, dinner or just dessert and coffee will leave you with a smile on your face, happily satisfied and change in your pocket. Don't forget to reward your server for their exceptional attention to you their customer.

The Best deal in Jacksonville! Quality home cooking at a price a family of seven can afford to eat out at. Great people there too! Always a good time.

The service was great and the food palatable. Portion size is never going to be an issue. Look for the waitress who has a glass balancing skill I've never seen. She takes your order mentally (no pad and paper) and there is not one missed item or item not cooked to order. Well done! Thanks, Marine Mom.💙

I don't think I have a bad thing to say about this place! They have super delicious food for a very reasonable price. It's always packed, but that's because they are so popular. They have a very friendly and personable wait staff, plus quick service. Good for families, dates, or just eating alone!

Recommended with enthusiasm. Tasted better than most breakfast places and still cheap!
